The story
Born and raised on Lake Travis, founder and captain Joe Mohn has been surrounded by the water since day one. His love for wakesurfing, wakeboarding, and all things board sports began early — and by the time he was eight he was already carving his first wake with his family cheering him on. That moment sparked a lifelong passion that would eventually grow into what is now Travis Wake Charters.
With years of hands-on experience teaching friends and clients how to wakesurf, wakeboard, and confidently enjoy the lake, Joe built this company around the idea of sharing the lake life — not just renting out a boat. Whether you’re a first-timer looking for proper instruction or a crew ready for an unforgettable bachelorette bash, we deliver premium, full-service charters on Lake Travis.
Every charter is captain-led, stocked, and tailored to your day — equipment, coolers, sound system, and service included. The boat carries up to twelve, and comes fully equipped with tubes, surfboards, lily pads, life vests, boards and ropes. From beginner-friendly wakesurf and wakeboard lessons to laid-back tubing and cove hangouts, every trip is built to match your vibe.
For those looking to level up, lessons are taught by a dedicated wakesurf instructor, which means a more personal, step-by-step session. Whether you’re getting up for the first time or working on tricks, you get hands-on coaching pitched at your level — so you progress faster and ride with confidence.
